The standard we work to

We aim to meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA, in accordance with the web accessibility requirements that apply to Fanshawe College under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA). In practice that means:

  • Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, and the focus position is always visible.
  • Text and background colours meet contrast requirements, and text can be enlarged without breaking the layout.
  • Images carry text descriptions, and decorative images are marked so screen readers skip them.
  • Headings, lists and links are marked up properly, so the page can be navigated by structure.
  • Videos carry captions.
  • Nothing important depends on colour alone, and nothing flashes.

Tell us how we are doing

If you run into a barrier on this site, or if something we sent you was not usable, we want to hear about it. Email info@poppyproject.ca. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and what got in the way. We will review your feedback and respond as promptly as possible.

Another format

If anything on this site is difficult to use, we will provide it in another format at no charge. That includes the lesson plan, the printable summary, and any other document. Tell us what format suits you and we will do our best to match it.
