The Remembrance Poppy is a registered trademark of The Royal Canadian Legion, Dominion Command. The Legion holds trademark rights in the poppy image and in the word Poppy, and its use is controlled.
It does not extend to you. Buying a kit, running the activity, or working with us does not give you the right to use the poppy on your own materials, products, logo or website. If you want to use the poppy symbol for something of your own, you need to ask the Legion directly. Proposed uses go to the Dominion Command Poppy and Remembrance Committee at poppytrademark@legion.ca.
A few things the Legion asks of everyone, which we ask too. The poppy is never placed where it can be walked on. It is not used to sell unrelated products. It is treated as what it is, which is a symbol of remembrance.
The lesson plan, instructions and printable materials are provided for non-commercial classroom and community educational use. They may be printed and reproduced for those purposes, subject to any trademark and licensing restrictions shown on the materials.
They may not be sold, published as your own, or included in a paid product or programme.
